It’s no secret that the housing market continues to improve, and a recent report from the National Association of Realtors suggests that Americans are more optimistic than ever about the future of real estate.  In fact, more than eight in ten Americans think that purchasing a home is a good financial decision!  Additionally, 61% of renters report that becoming a homeowner is one of their highest personal priorities.  This is an increase of 11 percentage points from the data collected in 2013.

And while it’s true that home prices have risen in the past couple of years, experts are quick to point out that, paradoxically, their relatively affordability has also increased.  The strong job market and slightly easier credit requirements have actually resulted in more people being in a position to purchase a home.

The outlook is sunny for sellers, too! Approximately 71% of sellers believe that they’ll be able to sell their home for at least as much as they paid, which is a big jump from the 55% of homeowners who thought so in 2013.
