Money Magazine is well-known for its annual list of the Best Places to Live, and this year’s list highlights the very best town in each state. The magazine scours areas based on the public school system, economic stability, convenience, safety, and access to parks, restaurants, and shops.
This year, Hockessin was named the most desirable place to live in Delaware. The popular magazine praised the New Castle County neighborhood for its easy commute to Wilmington and Newark, family-friendly vibe, and historic homes.
Hockessin and the surrounding towns of Greenville and Centerville are affluent and the home prices are generally higher than the Delaware average. However, buyers on a budget will appreciate the more affordable (and move-in ready) townhomes and condos in the area – most are priced in the $300,000-$400,000 range.
Hockessin is part of the Red Clay Consolidated School District. The award-winning district serves over 16,000 students and is notable for its state-of-the-art facilities (including a planetarium and observatorium!). To learn more about Red Clay Consolidated School District, click here.
