Real estate agents work hard to strategically market each client’s home, including details like the best time of week to put it on the market.  We asked a few different EveryHome agents what they think:

-

EveryHome agent Mark Gatta suggests listing on a Thursday, as this gives buyers and their agents enough time to schedule appointments for the upcoming weekend.  In fact, Saturday is the busiest day for showings!

Katie Kennedy, EveryHome’s co-founder and owner, agrees that listing in the middle of the week may be best for most sellers.  Katie suggests listing even earlier, perhaps on a Tuesday or Wednesday, ensures that all websites will display all of the homes in time for weekend showings (some popular sites take 48 hours to update).

Another popular strategy is to list your home on one of the least busy days, like Monday or Tuesday.  While this idea seems a bit unconventional, Monday is the slowest day for homes to hit the market, and your home may be more likely to stand out to serious buyers who scour the new listings each day.  By contrast, Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days for new listings, but they don’t give buyers and agents enough time to schedule appointments for the upcoming weekend, so we recommend avoiding these days.
