Are Moving Companies Worth It?
Buying (and selling) a home can be fun, stressful, exciting and overwhelming — all at the same time! Whether or not you’ve been through the process of a “big move” before, it’s typically worth hiring a licensed and insured moving company. Here’s why:

1. They’re not as expensive as you may think. While price can vary considerably, rest assured that most local moving companies are very flexible in regards to your needs. Just want them to move the big stuff? No problem. Want them to box every thing in your entire home and move you from soup to nuts? They can do that, too! Just be sure to request estimates from 2 or 3 moving companies at least a month in advance.
2. You’ll be grateful on the big day! The settlement might require your undivided attention, and there simply may not be enough hours in the day to complete the move. This is especially true if you have kids!

3. Not selling and buying on the same day? No problem! Many moving companies offer short-term storage (ranging from one day to a few months) for families who might be staying with the in-laws for a few weeks before moving into their new home. This storage is generally affordable, and doesn’t require you to haul your stuff back and forth multiple times.
