It’s open house season! The busy time of year for real estate is well underway as we enter the warmer spring months, and chances are there will be plenty of opportunities to tour new listings at open houses.

In addition to learning about the home, attending an open house is also a great time to meet with an agent.  The listing agent, or one of their licensed colleagues, typically “sits” the open house, meaning that they are available to answer any questions about the home or neighborhood, as well as provide a guided tour.  Feel free to ask the agent any questions that you may have – they’re there to help you!

Attending an Open House

1270 Laurel Ave, Warminster PA – Open House Sunday, March 19th from 1-3pm

And as far as open house etiquette goes, consider removing your shoes upon entrance (there might be a sign requesting this) and be sure to comply with the sign-in sheet – after all, it’s only fair to the sellers that they know who toured their home.  If you’d prefer that the listing agent not contact you, however, always feel free to omit your email address or request to not be contacted.

Attending an Open House

166 Wyndmoor Ave, Havertown PA – Open House Sunday, 3/19 from 10am-1pm

There’s no need to RSVP for an open house, so you can just drop by in the allotted timeframe (many open houses are on Sunday afternoons).  And unless there’s a sign requesting it, there’s no need to knock or ring the doorbell, either.  If you’re curious about any upcoming open houses, we’re always happy to help!  Just send an email to theoffice@everyhome.com and you’ll hear back from us shortly.
