It’s no secret that spring is the busy season in real estate, but did you know that more homes are listed in April than any other month? In fact, April 1st was the most popular day of the year to list a home in 2016, according to recent data from the National Association of Realtors. April 15th was the second most popular date, followed by March 1st and June 1st. While sellers tend to list their homes toward the beginning of the month, the majority of closings occur towards the end of the month.
And there is good news for buyers who struggled finding the perfect home this past winter: more than half of all homes are listed for sale between the months of March and July, and we anticipate a sharp rise in new listings in the coming weeks.
