Curbed Philly evaluated the five most expensive housing markets in Pennsylvania are all located in Greater Philadelphia, but we bet you’ll be surprised to see which areas did (and did not!) make the list.  The popular real estate blog evaluated the top towns and their surrounding areas for the average sales price, and Bucks County took the top three spots!

6125 Greenhill Rd, New Hope PA – Asking $3.895m

 

Here are the top five towns where you can be expected to shell out a pretty penny to own a home:

New Hope is the most expensive town, with an average price of over $745,000. The walkable Bucks County town is excellent for commuters to Philadelphia, New York City and Princeton, and many homes offer a scenic view of the Delaware River.

With an average price of $568,000, Newtown is the second priciest town in the area.  We love the classic Bucks County town for its great neighborhoods, excellent school district, and friendly residents.

 

Doylestown is popular for its trendy boutiques, award-winning restaurants, and unique homes, so it’s no surprise that it’s a pricy place to live! The average home in Doylestown costs about $530,000, and it’s not uncommon to find homes that cost upwards of $2 million.

861 Penn Oak Rd, Blue Bell PA – Asking $1.995m

Nestled in the heart of Montgomery County, Blue Bell is an excellent place to live and offers one of the top school districts in the state (Wissahickon). Blue Bell is convenient for commuters, and features plenty of tree-lined neighborhoods, parks, and country clubs. The average sales price is approximately $517,000.

Newtown Square in Delaware County rounds out the top five priciest areas.  The beautiful town boasts an average sales price of $515,000 and features an award-winning school district and convenience to both the city and the Main Line.
