Proudly serving Springfield Township and Morton Borough, Springfield School District of central Delaware County offers a rigorous curriculum, award-winning schools, and relatively affordable housing. The district’s location also offers an easy commute to Philadelphia, Wilmington, and King of Prussia.
Springfield School District Highlights
The district recently opened its greatly anticipated Springfield Literacy Center for all students in kindergarten and first grade. The center, which has won multiple architectural and environmental awards, is designed to ensure that all students meet or exceed grade level standards.

Springfield School District consistently enjoys strong standardized test scores, and is ranked within the top 15% of Pennsylvania school districts by the Pittsburgh Business Times based on academic achievement.

Springfield High School offers a College and Career Academy to its students, which is designed to increase college readiness and preparation for post-secondary careers. The five “academies” offered include Art, Humanities, Liberal arts, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and Business. The course groupings allow students to explore college and career interests from an early age.

Springfield School District operates five schools and arranges students a bit differently than other local districts. All kindergarten and first grade students attend the Springfield Literacy Center. Second through fifth grade students then attend either Sabold Elementary School or Scenic Hills Elementary School depending on their geographic location. Sixth through eighth grade students attend E.T. Richardson Middle School, and ninth through twelfth grade students attend Springfield High School.

Additionally, there are a number of nearby private schools and charter schools, including Cardinal O’Hara High School, The Walden School, and Media-Providence Friends School.

Additionally, a handful of townhomes and twin homes are readily available throughout the district and are typically priced between $150,000 and $200,000.

While most homes within Springfield School District are located on half of an acre or less, there are some homes situated on larger lots. The majority of homes for sale are located on friendly, quiet, well-established streets. There are not many new construction opportunities in the district.
