Norristown Area School District
Encompassing the borough of Norristown and East Norriton and West Norriton townships, Norristown Area School District (NASD) touts itself as being the “most wonderfully diverse” district in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Located in the southwest corner of Montgomery County, Norristown Area School District offers eleven schools to over 7,000 students.
Norristown Area School District Highlights
Norristown Area School District is notable for offering plenty of “STEM” programming, including the Eisenhower Science and Technology Leadership Academy! This middle school also features “Eatiquette,” a lunch program cooked from scratch provided by The Vetri Foundation (founded by award-winning restauranteur Marc Vetri) that encourages healthy eating, trying new foods, and community time.

High school students in the district may benefit from Norristown’s dual enrollment program with Montgomery County Community College. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit, even as a high schooler!

The Norristown Area Eagles successfully compete in the Suburban One League for athletics, and notoriously perform well across the spectrum of sports. Wrestling is a particular strength of NASD, as they’ve won league titles in 14 of the last 20 years!

The district is home to Cole Manor, J.K. Gotwals, Marshall Street, W.S. Hancock, Paul V. Fly, and Whitehall Elementary Schools. Middle school students attend either East Norriton, Whitehall, or A.D. Eisenhower Middle Schools. All 9th-12th grade students attend Norristown Area High School or Roosevelt Alternative High School.
