Upper Merion Township Quick Facts
Upper Merion derives its name from the County of Merioneth in North Wales. The township’s largest village, King of Prussia, was named from the King of Prussia Inn built in 1719. Today, the township is home to two places on the National Register of Historic Places: Hanging Rock and Poplar Lane.

Upper Merion Township includes the villages of King of Prussia, Gulph Mills, Swedeland, Swedesburg, and parts of Wayne. Most homes in the township use a King of Prussia mailing address, but others use Conshohocken or Wayne.

The township is served by the Upper Merion Area School District, which is known for its impressive scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors and a well-developed technology program. It’s “one-to-one” program ensures that every student is provided with a laptop for both school and home use.
