Scenic, quiet, and friendly! Salford township is nestled in the north east portion of Montgomery County and located within the award-winning Souderton Area School District. Largely rural and featuring sprawling historic farmhomes, Salford Township is a popular choice for local families wishing for privacy, relatively affordable land, and convenience to the growing town of Harleysville.

Salford Township once encompassed present-day Lower Salford and Upper Salford, but Jacob Reiff petitioned to have them become separate municipalities in 1741.

The township covers 9.6 square miles and is home to approximately 2600 residents. Salford is conveniently located for many suburban commuters, as Ridge Rd (Rt 563) and Allentown Rd run directly through the township. The Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension (476) also runs through Salford.

Most homes within Salford Township use a Telford, Green Lane, or Harleysville mailing address.
