Phoenixville Borough

This recently revitalized town has become one of the most popular places to live and visit in the region! Phoenixville is home to an array of wonderful restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops, and boutiques. Plus, the town offers relatively affordable homes with great walkability.

Phoenixville is situated in northern Chester County and was originally called “Manavon.” As one of the area’s biggest manufacturing centers, it was home to many large iron and steel mills. When the borough became incorporated in 1849, it derived its new name from Phoenix Iron Works – one of the area’s biggest employers.

Phoenixville was named to Philadelphia Magazine’s list of “10 Awesome Places to Call Home” in 2010 – and for good reason! With a variety of housing styles for every budget, great local events, and a flourishing downtown area, it’s no surprise that so many families call Phoenixville home.

Phoenixville is located within Phoenixville Area School District, which has won a number of awards including being named to the AP (Advanced Placement) Honor Roll.

Phoenixville is also home to the popular Blobfest at the Colonial Theatre, as well as First Friday events, a Farmer’s Market, and a Dogwood Festival. Be sure to enjoy Phoenixville’s great location along the Schuylkill River, with abundant opportunities for walking, hiking, biking, and kayaking!

Homes in Phoenixville Area School District tend to be priced a bit below the Chester County average, although there are a variety of homes for sale. The most popular home styles for sale are townhomes and twin homes between $150,000 and $300,000. These homes are primarily located within Phoenixville Borough, and many of them are walkable to the award-winning Phoenixville restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and galleries!

Phoenixville offers a blend of newer homes and more traditional row homes. The majority of the homes in the center of the borough are neatly-kept brick townhomes and twins, while some newer subdivisions have been developed on the outskirts of the borough. Generally speaking, the newer homes are priced a bit higher. The borough also offers Victorian style homes and newer single-family Colonial homes, too!
