The world’s foremost color authority, Pantone, recently announced the 2019 Color of the Year!  This year’s hue is “Living Coral,” a lively salmon color with golden undertones.  Pantone shares that the chosen color is “vibrant, yet mellow.  Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”

As for the meaning of the bold and breezy hue, the team explains, “we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy. Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity.”

Designers and stylists anxiously await Pantone’s reveal each year, as the shade quickly becomes a top choice for clothing, furniture, and decor in the months to come.  This year, we can expect to see tasteful pops of pink and orange throughout professionally-designed homes.  Last year’s choice, a bold purple dubbed “Ultra Violet” was a top choice for designers and stylists alike.  The previous year, “Greenery” (a vivid kelly green shade), made a splash, as houseplants became the top decor choice and the green-filled “jungalow” theme was one of the most searched and Pinterested home decor searches nationwide.
