We love living in a walkable neighborhood, with plenty of shops, restaurants and trails just steps from our front door!  The only problem is that many of the quaint, walkable suburbs (think Media, Doylestown, or New Hope) can be pricey – so we’ve rounded up our three budget-friendly favorites:

walkable

114 Race St, Ambler – Asking $224,000

In addition to Ambler’s beautiful downtown area (we especially love Deterra restaurant and wine bar, and their farmer’s market), it’s also conveniently located in Central Montco and within Wissahickon School District.  Consistently ranked among the top ten public school districts in the state, Ambler is a family-friendly town with an array of budget-friendly housing options!

walkable

353 Hall St, Phoenixville – Asking $200,000

We bet you could have guessed this next one: Phoenixville!  This Chester County suburb is one of the most popular places for Millennials to purchase their first home, and for good reason.  Filled with trendy shops, bars, yoga studios and coffee shops (be sure to check out Steel City!), Phoenixville is affordable and located near Malvern, Collegeville, KoP, and West Chester.

walkable

208 S 5th St in Perkasie – Asking $199,900

If you’re interested in living near plenty of parks and open space, but still wish to walk to restaurants and fitness studios, be sure to consider Perkasie.  This Bucks County borough has plenty of homes under $200,000 and is located in Pennridge School District.  When in Perkasie, be sure to stop by the Down to Earth Cafe and Maize!
