It’s festival and street fair season in the City of Brotherly Love! Here are the May events that we’ve already put on the calendar:

The quaint and popular neighborhood of Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia will be hosting their annual Home and Garden Festival on Sunday, May 15th.  In addition to 150+ home and garden vendors, Germantown Avenue will also be lined with amusement rides and other kid-friendly activities.  Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to dine al fresco at one of Chestnut Hill’s award-winning eateries.

Spring Festival

Head to Bucks County’s Peddler’s Village on May 21st and May 22nd for their annual Strawberry Festival! After you enjoy their strawberry-related festivities and pie-eating contest, be sure to check out the village’s 65+ unique shops and eateries.   This event is free (and so is parking!)

The enormously popular Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival will be held on May 21st this year.  One of Philadelphia most well-attended street fests, the Spring Festival includes fashion events, live music, international entertainment and –of course–food! The event is free, but we recommend taking public transportation.

Devon Horse Show – Image via rootstoblooms.com

The country’s oldest and largest horse show is back for its 120th year! The  Devon Horse Show and Country Fair will be running from May 26th-June 5th, and it’s not just for horse lovers. Both local residents and visitors also love the country fair, which features a gigantic Ferris wheel, game booths, delicious food vendors and a juried art exhibition!  (Psst – crowds will be biggest at the Grand Prix on May 28th!).  General admission to the horse show costs about $75, and believe us — it’s worth it!
