The First Time Buyer’s Guide to Getting Pre Approved

Pre Approved Guide

If you’re in the early stages of home hunting, you’ve probably been thinking about reaching out to a mortgage lender to get pre approved (and if you haven’t, we can help you get started!). While the lending environment has loosened up over the past year or two, it’s still a good idea to get in touch with a lender before you get your heart set on a home in a too-high price range.

Some clients reach out to us (Realtors) first, while others consult a lender as the beginning step. Either way, we’re happy to help! We love to help first-time home buyers get organized & we’re happy to introduce you to a few knowledgeable and helpful lenders in the area.

The pre-approval process is pretty easy. Typically, a lender will do a quick interview with you over the phone and ask a few basic finance questions (income, debt, etc). He or she will also run a credit check. Within a day, you will be pre approved for a specific price range, and then the fun begins—you’re ready to submit an offer on a home if you’d like!

As you might have already seen, mortgage rates are rising quickly… but the good news is that you can lock your rate in during the beginning of the mortgage application process! Best of luck to you during the home hunting process, and don’t ever hesitate to call us at 215 699 5555 for no-obligation advice or assistance of any kind.
