Serving sought-after Blue Bell, Ambler, and Lower Gwynedd in central Montgomery County, Wissahickon School District was named one of the top school districts in the nation by Newsweek! The medium-sized district operates four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school.

Consistently ranked among the top public school districts in the state, Wissahickon School District serves approximately 4300 students. The district operates Shady Grove Elementary School, Stony Creek Elementary School, Blue Bell Elementary School, Lower Gwynedd Elementary School, Wissahickon Middle School and Wissahickon High School.

Wissahickon School District was named 9th Best High School in Pennsylvania and 607th in the Nation by the 2014 U.S. News and World Report! Plus, the district had the highest School Performance Profile (SPP) score in the entire state.

In addition to its academic rigor and curriculum, Wissahickon School District also offers its students a variety of award-winning clubs and activities including Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Amnesty International, Law Club, and National Honor Society.

Wissahickon Middle School offers opportunities for non-traditional problem solving for 6th-8th graders through the MathCounts program which has been nationally recognized as a Gold Level Club for 8 consecutive years. The school’s MathCounts competition team competes at the regional, state, and national level.
