Serving approximately 4600 students in the southern portion of Montgomery County, this award-winning public school district combines convenience to the city in a friendly, suburban community. The district includes all or parts of popular towns including Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting, Lafayette Hill, Flourtown, Fort Washington, and Whitemarsh.

The school district emphasizes the importance of community service and encourages its students to engage in meaningful volunteer work. Some of the opportunities provided through Colonial School District include food and clothing drives, as well as fundraising for local non-profit organizations in need.

Colonial School District is home to an impressive 93 percent of educators with at least a master’s degree. Additionally, half of teachers have over ten years of teaching experience.

Middle school and high school students within the district recently won the national championship in three events at the Technology Student Association National Convention!

Athletics are a big part of the Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School, and the school has enjoyed a tradition of excellence in the region. Plymouth-Whitemarsh has previously won the state championship for boys’ basketball, baseball, wrestling, girl’s tennis, swimming, and track and field.

Colonial School District arranges its schools a bit differently than many other local districts. Kindergarten through third grade students attend one of four elementary schools depending on location, including Colonial Elementary School, Whitemarsh Elementary School, Plymouth Elementary School, and Ridge Park Elementary School. All students in grades four and five attend Colonial Elementary, and grades six through eight attend Colonial Middle School. Ninth through twelfth grade students attend Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
