Welcome to Montgomery Township

Nestled in eastern Montgomery County, this large township is home to an abundance of shops, restaurants, and entertainment opportunities. Suburban in nature, Montgomery Township offers many newer homes located in subdivisions, as well as more affordable options. And with easy access to Rts 309 and 202, it’s no surprise that so many commuters love Montgomery Township!

Montgomery Township Quick Facts

The Montgomery Township Historical Society, founded in 1988, is committed to documenting and preserving the history of the municipality. The committee members host events that are open to the public, and are intended to educate and involve local residents.

The Knapp Farm, a historic farmhouse at the corner of Dekalb Pike and Knapp Road, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The farmhouse is believed by many local residents to be haunted!

Montgomery Township is served by North Penn School District.

The township includes all or parts of the villages of Montgomeryville, Colmar, Montgomery Square and Fortuna. Montgomery Township uses the mailing addresses of North Wales and Lansdale.

What To Do In Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township just may be the biggest retailer hub of the entire county! The township is home to the Montgomery Mall, as well as large retailers such as Best Buy, Target, and Wegman’s in Montgomeryville.

The township also features movie theaters, award-winning restaurants (we especially love Harvest Seasonal Grille & Wine Bar, and Noboru Sushi).

For a more relaxing day, be sure to visit one of Montgomery Township’s many parks, including the Applewood Park, Windlestrae Park, or the Bark Park for dogs. Many of the township’s parks feature walking trails, children’s playgrounds, community gardens and gazebos.

Montgomery Township Real Estate

Homes in Montgomery Township tend to be priced right around the Montgomery County average. The majority of homes in Montgomery Township fall in the moderate price range, with the bulk of townhomes valued between $150-300k and single-family homes around $400,000.

Popular home styles include single-family homes in friendly subdivisions, many of which offer four bedrooms and nice backyards. Due to the history of the township’s development, many of these neighborhoods were established and built in the 1980s and 1990s. It’s also not uncommon to find a newer luxury home, in a private community!

More affordable townhomes are also available throughout the township, and a popular choice for many buyers. Many of these townhomes are clean, move-in ready, and built within the last 30 years. If you’re on a budget but would prefer a single-family home, be sure to keep your eyes out for a classic ranch-style home under $275,000!
