If you’re in the market for a scenic Bucks County home, look no further! Doylestown Township offers proximity to the charming borough of the same name, while featuring plenty of open land, pretty parks, and the county’s famous rolling hills. With an abundance of beautiful neighborhoods and its location in one of the best school districts in the region, it’s no surprise that so many people love Doylestown! The township spans over 15 square miles, and is home to approximately 18,000 people.

Doylestown Township Quick Facts

Doylestown traces its roots to 1745 when William Doyle obtained a license to build a tavern on the corner of present-day Main and State Street. It came to be known as “William Doyle’s Tavern” and its convenient location linked travelers between New Hope and Norristown. The township of Doylestown became officially established in 1818.

The township is home to many historic and beautiful sites, including Henry Mercer’s Fonthill, built in 1910, and William Mercer’s Aldie mansion, built in 1927.

Delaware Valley College is also located in beautiful Doylestown Township. The district is served by award-winning Central Bucks School District.

What To Do In Doylestown Township

Doylestown Borough is located adjacent to the township, and offers restaurants, shops, galleries and museum! For a nice night out, we love the restaurants Honey and Bobby Simone’s. If you’re looking for something a bit more casual (but equally delicious) be sure to try Jules Thin Crust Pizza.

The township is home to plenty of parks, including Central Park, Turk Park, and Dark Hollow. Doylestown Country Club and Golf Course are also located in the township.
