Abington Township Quick Facts
Abington became an incorporated township in 1704, after the tract of land was purchased from the native Lenape by William Penn. Abington made history when a small battle was fought during the Revolutionary War. Today, Abington Senior High School and Fox Chase Farm (one of only two working farms in Philadelphia) have been named to the National Register of Historic Places.

Abington is home to some of the region’s largest employers, including Abington Memorial Hospital and Willow Grove Park Mall. Additionally, the township is home to Penn State’s Abington Campus and Manor College. Private elementary and high schools, including the esteemed Abington Friends School, are also located within Abington.

No car? No problem! This convenient town offers easy access to Center City through Noble, Rydal, Meadowbrook, Roslyn, Ardsley, and Crestmont train stations. Bus routes are also available, and many residents enjoy biking around town.
