Historic District Contributing Structure Circa 1774 Plank Partition Wall Construction plaster interior stucco and cedar clapboard exterior three story home with the third floor having three unfinished rooms most recently used for storage. The main roof is of hand split historic cedar shake and a standing seam metal roof over the kitchen addition. The interior has 6 original fire places and one walk in inglenook fireplace in the kitchen created by the most recent owner. The four first floor fireplaces are gas insert conversions the three second floor fireplaces have not been converted or used for an extended time. There are three original chimneys. This residence is a testimony to original American History having stood the British occupation of Mount Holly in 1776 and the Battle of Iron Works Hill the days before Washington crossed the Delaware into Trenton. The interior has been maintained and decorated reflecting a Colonial Williamsburg tradition but originally built in a more simple Quaker plan as this home was built by a local and prominent Quaker and iron mill owner Samuel Carr.
